Walt Disney World Resort recently updated the complimentary amenities at its onsite hotels for families with young children. The most notable upgrade is the change from traditional metal toddler bedrails to cushioned bed bumpers, making sleep more comfortable for the youngest Disney Park guests.

Unlike the old removable bedrails, these new padded bumpers slide under the fitted sheet. They still help prevent little ones from sliding off the standard Disney Resort hotel mattress, but are more comfortable and less cold to the touch. On Facebook, WDW News Today shared this photo of a bed at one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels set up with the new cushioned bumpers:

Walt Disney World Resort offers several other amenities for guests staying at onsite hotels with infants and toddlers, including Pack’ n Play travel cribs, bottle warmers, bottle sterilizers, infant bathtubs, night lights, diaper disposal units, mini refrigerators, stroller storage, and bathroom step stools for children.

Guests can access these amenities and others (such as help with medication storage) by making a request during online check-in or by visiting the front desk at their Walt Disney World Resort hotel upon arrival. Disney Resort hotels don’t charge extra for any of these amenities, but they are subject to availability. Requesting them in advance will make it easier for Disney cast members to prepare hotel rooms for your arrival.

Child-friendly amenities are available across all Disney Resort hotel types: Value, Moderate, and Deluxe.
