I remember going all the time when they first opened. Alfred Hitchcock. Nothing that replaced Hanna Barbera was as good. Kong was amazing. Jaws was OK. Earthquake, gone. It was a more relaxing day. Now its just a mad dash like everywhere else. Probably won’t be back.
The days of mechanical rides with live skippers, evening water shows and lots of pyrotechnics Everytime you step on the platform! These days are mostly gone, people look for coasters and certainly 3d &4d make some things more immersive, but nothing compared to the rides of past, the smell of et as walk through the forest, the tractor trailer crashing through the subway or of course that sunny bright day you board the ferry for Amity.
I think people get stuck on nostalgia and forget reality. The old Kong was incredibly lame. It barely did anything. Jaws was pathetic. You waited in line for over an hour for your bost to be bumped a little. Now they did improve it a couple years later over the original. The lines were horrible. I remember waiting over 90mins for ET. Everything was a super long wait. You couldn’t even take pictures of some of the things. Had to pay for a photo. Now I love it. It converted me from Disney where I used to think if Im in Florida how can I not goto Disney and now it is how can I not goto Universal
