So, a Colombian here, living in Cartagena. Violence in my country is very, very far away from our coasts. Dangers in Cartagena are actually similar, maybe less visible than in many US main cities, or Europe (I say this out of knowledge). Common sense is the main rule to follow, and avoid reading into misinformation through lack of context. Enjoy your trip, use tour guides, and visit Cartagena’s old quarters, the true pirate of the Caribbean settings, Puerto Rico on steroids.
