On Sunday, Disney confirmed the official name and grand opening date for a flying carousel ride inspired by Pixar’s Up (2009). The family-friendly theme park attraction is already under construction at Disney Adventure World.
Disney Adventure World
Disneyland Paris Resort guests said goodbye to the European vacation destination’s original second theme park gate, Walt Disney Studios Park, last month. The following day, on March 29, it reopened as Disney Adventure World, transforming the park that was originally about movie-making into a sprawling map of immersive experiences based on existing Disney-owned property.

Some Walt Disney Studios Park experiences, like the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Marvel Avengers Campus, survived the transformation into Disney Adventure World. Still, opening day brought several new experiences to the park, including the Disney Cascade of Lights nighttime spectacular, the Regal View Restaurant & Lounge character dining experience with Disney Princesses, the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, and, of course, the massive World of Frozen.
Even with all of those new experiences, Disneyland Paris Resort has promised that more attractions and themed lands are on their way to Disney Adventure World.
Up (2009) Ride Coming Soon

On April 12, Disneyland Paris Resort announced the official title of a previously announced flying carousel ride inspired by Up: Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings. Riders can join Russell and the Wilderness Explorers as they soar through the air at Disney Adventure World, beginning in 2027:
🎈 It’s official! The new attraction inspired by UP will be called Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings! 💫 Ready to join Russell and the Explorers in 2027?

Disney Park guests will begin their journey in a queue made up of four zones inspired by different parts of the Pixar Animation Studios film. It will include several life-size props, such as Carl’s childhood aviator helmet and goggles, and Ellie’s adventure book.

The ride will sit at the center of a themed garden inspired by Up in the Adventure Way land at Disney Adventure World. It will offer two types of seats: single swings or attached duo chairs, inviting guests to share their journey with loved ones.

Disneyland Paris Resort hasn’t confirmed an exact opening date for the ride beyond 2027.
More Fun Ahead
Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings isn’t the only attraction under construction at Disney Adventure World. The park is currently developing a land and log flume ride inspired by The Lion King (1994), which will feature a scaled model of Pride Rock and audio-animatronic characters of Simba, Timon, Pumbaa, and more characters from the animated film.

Leaked planning documents also indicate that Disneyland Paris Resort may be planning an Avatar (2009) land for Disney Adventure World, similar to Pandora – The World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park at Walt Disney World Resort. Disney hasn’t confirmed this, but Imagineers are developing an Avatar experience for Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort.
