I remember touring this hotel when I was a kid in the early 90s on my first trip to disney and being blown away by the monorail running right through the building.
My family stayed here in August 1972. I was 8 and completely amazed at this marvel. On days we weren’t at the park I would just watch the monorail go through the lobby all day long. This was better than an E ticket ride!
My wife &I & our daughter and son-in-law & our two grandsons stayed at the Contemporary. We had the best time. Our room accommodations were FABULOUS ! We all loved the monorail & Chef. Mickey’s !!!!!!!

The Contemporary has always been my favorite since I was younger, 8-12. Although I can’t afford to stay there as an adult, my memories soar from being in such a hotel and definitely added to the true Magic of going to the Magic Kingdom.
We have very happy memories at the Contemporary! If they were ever able to expand the lobby that would really improve it! Perhaps I’m spoiled by the soaring ceilings of the other deluxe hotels! Location is to die for there!
Carol, my family grew up on Disney, whenI was a kid, to my husband and I dreaming of taking our 3 kids, then taking our 12 grandkids and also 4 great grandkids over 38 trips there have been many changes over the years not all for the best. It will be missed
