Well, they actually went in the woke direction even though it was subtle. I like Bryce Dallas Howard in the previous one, because even though she was playing the part of a woman in a successful professional position, she did a very good job of portraying her character and she portrayed her character that was the lady. And the last one, however, Scarlett Johansson played her typical role, same character with a different script, or she’s basically an insecure feminist woman who is trying to prove her worth by being a superhero to the point of it being, even when she’s not a superhero, and being very unrealistic in the process. I always found out to be a turn off no amount of CGI can cover it up when it’s one of the major characters in the movie.
Yes, the Jurassic Park concept is getting a little bit old, but I think if they did it right it could still interesting. Unfortunately for Hollywood, they don’t seem to know how to tell stories anymore whether it’s on the screen or in a Disney park, both are all about the story. If they can’t tell a story, it’s not going to be long before they’re all bankrupt.
The series has always had strong female leads, Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore) are arguably stronger, and more capable than any of the men in the first two movies.
In addition to your ridiculous assesment about feminism, the movies have always been anti-corporation, pro-animal and environmental conservation, and in recent entries, anti-militaristic.
So called ‘woke’ ideologies have been part of the series since its inception.
You’re the moron, since you obviously cannot read. He said nothing about not wanting strong female characters. In fact he implied the opposite. Strong female characters are great, but not females pretending to be males. Or maybe you’re just a leftist looking to shoehorn your opinion in anywhere you can. Pathetic.
As with the Star Trek movies, the Jurassic series has had some great ones (the first was the best, while Star Trek 2 and 4 were the best) and some not so great ones. With Jurassic, it is hard to pick the better ones, for each had it’s great points and some less than great points. I am a huge fan of Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum, so I would tend to favor the ones with one or both of them (The Lost World: JP, JP III). Nothing against the Jurassic World flicks, which I enjoyed, with high hopes especially for Dominion, with Neill and Goldblum returning, I still felt hungry for more at the end of those films. Rebirth, to be honest, I was really looking forward to, because it had been so long, but it wasn’t their best. It felt more like a typical ‘bad guy with evil plans who gets killed in the end and the good guys lived happily ever after’ plot like every film and TV show until Game of Thrones came along and killed the good guys with every episode. The mutant concept, while new and fresh, is kinda boring. I would rather they give us one which shows the true nature of the most frightening ones (like the fact that the first movie made T. Rex out to be a bit of a dullard with vision based on movement, when now we know he has very sharp stereoscopic vision, with color vision and clarity believed to be 13X sharper than humans, hearing that could perceive even vibrations from long distances, and a sharp sense of smell. Make a movie about THAT and see if anyone survives. Or the Carnotaurus, a monster that could not only outrun the fastest humans, but could maintain that speed for very long periods. Top that off with 2 horns on it’s head making it a true devil in the flesh. The point being, these creatures, if represented factually based on current knowledge, are terrifying enough without some silly attempt at mutations (not to mention they said they had to “fill in the blanks” of the genetic chains with amphibian DNA in the first movie and the books, so they were all basically mutants to begin with). Show us the REAL T. Rex!!
I’m a Jurassic park freak I love the dinosaur movies.i can’t get enough of them to sry they won’t be seen on regular TV or in movie shows, only on cable TV i have all the previous dino movies on CD’s. I don’t have cable I can’t afford it SSI.
Hi, I love the old characters better in the Jurassic. I love Jurassic Park I can re watch that anytime. I love Jurassic world, with Chris prat & Bryce Dallas Howard in the 3 Jurassics. I didnt like the re birth, as Scarlet Johanneson didnt do the film any favours, didnt know any of the cast and didnt recognise any of the dinosaurs. With only one watch just shows how it grabbed me, and I love the Jurassic’s. Please bring back Sam Neill and The old team and Chris &Bryce. No more Scarlet please.
