Just days after Inside the Magic’s most recent report on the transformation of a doorway to a window inside the Island Tower Disney Vacation Club (DVC) building, even more construction projects are underway at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Here’s how the ongoing work could impact your next stay at the Deluxe Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
Construction in the Great Ceremonial House

According to WDWNT, crews are currently refurbishing the exterior of the Great Ceremonial House, home to the lobby, check-in area, ‘Ohana, Kona Cafe, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, Capt. Cook’s, the Monorail station, and several merchandise locations. Several of the vertical beams on the outside of the building have been repainted, while others appear faded, with scaffolding confirming that work continues in the area.
Walt Disney World Resort restricts work to the daytime hours when most guests are at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Disney Springs. However, visitors may hear or see construction activity while visiting the Great Ceremonial House and other amenities at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Ongoing Work Next Door

Work also continues on the Tonga Longhouse, next door to the Great Ceremonial House at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Behind construction walls, temporary metal stairs allow crews to repaint exterior railings and doorways. WDWNT shared this photo on Facebook:
Tiki Terrace

Finally, Tiki Terrace, attached to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, remains closed for refurbishment. A sign informs visitors of the closure and encourages them to dine inside or visit other restaurants at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, like Capt. Cook’s and Kona Cafe.
Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t announced a reopening date for the Tiki Terrace dining location.
