Disneyland Resort has officially confirmed an end date for the upcoming refurbishment of Blue Bayou, the restaurant attached to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland Park. Find out if it impacts your upcoming visit to the Southern California Disney parks.
Blue Bayou and Pirates of the Caribbean Refurbishment Closures

Earlier this year, Disneyland Resort announced that it would close Blue Bayou Restaurant and Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland Park for simultaneous refurbishment beginning May 4, 2026. The final day to experience the New Orleans Square attraction and its attached Table-Service dining location is May 3.
At the time, Disneyland Resort didn’t announce its plans for the 59-year-old attraction, but permits filed earlier this year suggest that Walt Disney Imagineers are performing routine maintenance.
This week, the Southern California Disney park finally confirmed a reopening date for Blue Bayou Restaurant, but it comes with some disclaimers.
New Orleans Square Restaurant Reopening Date

On Thursday, Disneyland Resort updated its website to confirm that Blue Bayou Restaurant is “tentatively scheduled” to reopen on May 21. However, the iconic Cajun-Creole-inspired dining location will offer a “modified dining experience” as refurbishment of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction continues.
“Views will be obstructed and Guests may hear some refurbishment noise,” the Anaheim Disney destination’s website explains.

Blue Bayou Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on most days. Reservations are highly recommended for the Table-Service dining location, which often books out far in advance. The restaurant, which opened alongside Pirates of the Caribbean in 1967, is known for Cajun-Creole classics like the Monte Cristo sandwich, mint juleps, gumbo, and crème brûlée.
Disneyland Resort still hasn’t confirmed a reopening date for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Both it and Blue Bayou will close for refurbishment on May 4.
