It never ceases to surprise me that they always cut the cast members, the lowest paid employees and never take pay cuts at the top. A few of the upper CEO’s could chop off more from their pay and save more than laying off ten thousand cast members and still be overpaid. The sad part is not only do the low employees lose a job, but the loyal guests lose services they once looked forward to, such as the Magic Bus, packages delivered to your room, daily maid service, free magic bands, and other Disney perks we all loved. As prices still go up, this is why Disney is really losing it’s longtime once faithful returning guests.
Disney is losing it. Why don’t they cut the cost of their overpriced hotels, overpriced tickets, overpriced food, overpriced Lightening Lane passes and all their overpriced merchandise? The big wigs make more money than most of the Disney fans that walk or roll through the gates. Let them take big pay cuts and leave the poor Cast Members, who just trying to earn a measily buck, alone!
Excellent Cast members add more magic and joy to the park and cruise going experience than any ride, movie, light up gizmo or frou frou drink. Frankly, the amount of desperation for a good review experienced by the Disney cruise cast makes us apprehensive about going at all. If that starts happening at the Parks too, or if the cast there get any more surly or rude, we will absolutely stop patronizing anything Disney, parks, movies, merch, all of it. Make your cuts at the top, not the bottom. Leave the bottom alone – they’re working their hearts out for Disney, and they can’t be their best under this kind of pressure.

As a retire cast member, I agree with you.

The President makes $48 million a year because of quarterly results. Any questions on the reason for the layoffs of the great unwashed?

Stop making woke movies and stop wokafing the parks. This is all their doing.
