To be honest, the lack of notification for something of this magnitude seems intentional on Universal Studios’ part. I believe they didn’t want ticket sales affected by announcing the renovation of Hogwarts Castle in the Wizarding World.

As long as Toothless is available, who cares about a castle? Toothless is cooler than Harry

I’m going to hazard a guess and say they’re changing it to reflect the design of the new castle in the show.

It’ll reopen around the same time as the first season airs. Other aspects in the show look similar enough to the old designs to carry over for a while. The castle looks completely different, I’m guessing.

I wish are parks adopted the TD method of planned and advance annocment of closures.

I get that they dont want people to not buy tickets (as some who has worked at a theme park who was told to not “advertise” when something would be close) but there are just as many who would go in hopes it means smaller crowd day.

Doing this going into spring breaks is also crazy!

I hope it doesn’t take super long, because me and my family are going in late May and Hogsmead and the Castle are one of the main reasons we chose Islands of Studios or Universe.

Part of what you pay for at several hundred dollars in a theme park is the atmosphere, the decorations making it a special place to be. But, will I be offered a refund or discount? Of course not. A corporation is intentionally abusing their own patrons. Screw you lowly consumers. Tickets to Universal Studio are EXPENSIVE. I’m so angry I have tickets at full price and the MAJOR attraction is covered. They could have done it in parts. Who cares if it matches a TV show?

Really mentioning that no discount is given because of the work being done on the castle. How about when WDW has a special event and they kick you out of the park 5 hours early and you still pay full price for that day! Or when Disney does tell you that children get a discount and you ask how much it is, then they say children under 9 get a whopping $5 off of a $100+ ticket, what an insult. You cannot buy a soda at Disney for $5.
