Disney got scared when Dirt Snow flopped but got the big head about remaking everything all over again when shills went lost their spine over the horrid Lilo and Stitch remake. Moana is only ten years old and didn’t need a remake anyway. The Rock is too old for that role and looks awkward in that wig. Thankfully that trailer is getting ratioed. I’m also passing on tangled remake.
I’ve only seen two of Disney’s remakes and didn’t go running to the theater screaming nostalgia either. First I saw Lion King, which is one of my favorite Disney movies next to Toy Story. Great CGI visuals and animal action but watery dialogue, agenda and poor humor. Second I saw Jungle Book. Again, good CGI visuals and animal action but watery dialogue, gender swapping Kaa, poor humor, making Louie a giant wasn’t necessary, boy actor had an annoying voice, dulled down songs, etc. Anyway, unlike everyone else I learned my lesson not to trust that Disney will do a good job on these cash grab, watery remakes and I haven’t wanted to see another one since.
I *might* try the Moana remake if ever I find the DVD in the Dollar store someday but I see no point in it; if I want to see it I’ll watch the original.
Disney will never learn their lesson on these remakes until the audience does.
Ah, we finally get to talk about that laughable Moana remake. In the first place, it didn’t need a remake to begin with. Disney may as well start releasing the remake the same year as they release an original, not that they know what “original” is anymore. And I am sick to death of having to label a Disney movie as “original” and “the remake”. Anyway, this Moana remake will hopefully fail. At least not be a box office sensation so that we won’t wind up with a remake of the second and third. Dwyane Johnson looks pathetic in that body suit and wig not to mention he’s getting up there in years. Just because an actor voices a character doesn’t mean he’s suitable to physically play him. That’s like asking Frank Welker to portray teenage Fred in a live action Scooby Doo.
Guess live action Zootopia will be next to be announced.
Aside from that recent Snow White debacle, why do all these recent live-action remakes have to be about modern animated features?? How about a live-action BLACK CAULDRON or SWORD IN THE STONE?! 🤩 Or better yet, why not follow in Walt’s footsteps and adapt another 19th-century European novel and turn it into an ORIGINAL animated feature, much like Walt did with Snow White ’37, Peter Pan & Pinocchio?! ☺️
They cancelled plans to make Robin Hood, Bambi and Aristocats so that’s a start. But yes, Disney needs to give up on live action remakes. Dana Walden will make things right and so will Josh
Wrong. D’Amaro didn’t bury Walt’s original princess. Bob Iger and Rachel Zegler attempt to bury her and failed miserably. Dirt Brown was made in 2025 and evidently soooo. 🤣
Disney just wants to brag about the unfortunate success of Lilo and Stitch. And thanks to the brainless idi*ts that went to see it, the Tangled remake was dug back off the shelf and soon we’ll get Frozen remake, Hercules remake, Toy Story remake, Zootopia remake, Zootopia 2 remake, Frozen 2 remake, Lilo and Stitch 2 remake, Moana 2 remake, Enchanto remake, Finding Nemo remake, Finding Dory remake, Lion King 2 remake, Lion King 1 & 1/2 remake, Lady & the Tramp remake, Fox & the Hound remake, Ice Age remake, Toy Story 2 remake, Toy Story 4 remake, and Toy Story 5 remake. Afterwards we’ll get AI remakes of the remakes.

Well just remember Iger is still a major stock holder and is on the board. So he might just Chappek – D’Amaro. I am not going to put my faith in DAmaro yet we’ll see where he goes. Its a long way back from the Destruction by Iger and don’t forget the board gave its blessing and they are ALL THERE yet.
I am SO DONE with all the freaking remakes!!! Imagination is dead at Disney and the magic is suffering and I expect it to follow suit. Here’s an idea, if you want to make live action maybe try a brand new story with new charactors and story line? Walt would be extremely disappointed in what his dream has become.

I didn’t watch Snow Brown or Girlboss Lilo and Watered Down Stitch and I have no interest in Moana remake or especially Tangled remake.

Lets not forget how good The Little Hood rat mermaid was … Seriously they need to quit with the remakes it’s now doing them any favors

Disney won’t stop until the audience learns to stop. Disney never learns and neither does the audience.
