The upcoming third-person action-adventure game “007 First Light” has hardly been shrouded in secrecy over the past year. We’ve had a bunch of teasers, trailers, and gameplay overviews, and the entire cast, including the new Bond himself, has already been revealed.

Now, developer and publisher IO Interactive has finally lifted the curtain on the story. While we already knew some key details, such as the game centering on James Bond before he earns his iconic Double-O status, we now know a lot more.

Though we already got a Bond prequel with Casino Royale (2006), Daniel Craig’s first outing in his five-film series, “First Light” is set to flesh out the next iteration of the iconic MI6 agent even more. We also know that the main villain in the game is the rogue agent 009.

In the game, Bond is played by Irish actor Patrick Gibson, best known for the Paramount+ series Dexter: Original Sin, while Priyanga Burford (M), Kiera Lester (Miss Moneypenny), Naomie Ackie (Miss Roth), Alastair Mackenzie (Q)Lennie James (John Greenway), Gemma Chan (Selina Tan), and Lenny Kravitz (Bawma) round out the cast.

When Is “007 First Light” Out?

“007 First Light” has been delayed from its initial March 27, 2026 release to May 27, 2026.

Set to launch across all major gaming consoles, it’s being developed and published by IO Interactive under license from Amazon MGM, which took over supervisory duties after it acquired full creative control and production rights to the James Bond IP last year.
