Disney Springs has always been one of the busiest spots at Walt Disney World, but holiday weekends can push it into an entirely different category. Between tourists looking for something fun to do outside the parks, locals taking advantage of the long weekend, and families trying to squeeze in one more Disney experience, the district can feel just as packed as a theme park.
And when crowds surge like that, Disney has to make quick operational adjustments to keep traffic from turning into a complete mess.
That’s exactly what’s happening now, as Disney Springs has made a noticeable change to its parking operations in response to President’s Day Weekend crowds.

Lime Garage Temporarily Reopens for President’s Day Weekend
Disney Springs has announced that the Lime Garage has reopened temporarily for President’s Day Weekend after previously being shut down for a lengthy refurbishment project.
The Lime Garage has been closed since January 12 as crews work on structural repairs and general updates. The project was expected to keep the garage unavailable for nearly three months, which has forced Disney Springs to rely on fewer parking locations during a busy stretch of the year.
But with crowds expected to flood the area for the holiday weekend, Disney has now reopened Lime Garage through February 16.
This temporary reopening gives guests another major place to park and should help ease congestion at the entrances, especially during peak afternoon and evening hours when Disney Springs tends to become overwhelmed.
The Garage Will Close Again Right After the Holiday
While the reopening is helpful, it will not last long.
Disney has confirmed the Lime Garage will close again beginning February 17 and will remain unavailable through March 13, 2026. The garage is scheduled to officially reopen on March 14.
So while guests visiting this weekend can take advantage of the extra parking capacity, anyone visiting later in February or early March should expect the garage to be closed again.
The good news is that this timeline suggests Disney wants the project completed before most spring break crowds arrive, which could prevent an even bigger headache later in the season.
Other Disney Springs Parking Options Still Available
Even without Lime Garage, Disney Springs still offers multiple other parking areas for guests.
These include the Orange Garage, Grapefruit Garage, Watermelon Parking Lot, and Strawberry Parking Lot. These locations have been handling most of the demand while Lime Garage remains under refurbishment.
However, on a holiday weekend, even these options can fill up quickly, especially if guests arrive during prime dining hours.

Disney Springs Has Been Updating Its Parking Strategy
This is not the first time Disney Springs has made changes to parking operations. The Orange Garage underwent a similar refurbishment in early 2025, and it later received themed barriers and stanchions in October 2025.
Disney has also introduced a feature inside the My Disney Experience app that lets guests know when parking lots and garages at Disney Springs are full. That update may seem small, but it can save guests a ton of time when crowds are high and parking becomes a gamble.
What Guests Should Expect This Weekend
For many guests, the Lime Garage reopening is great news, but it also shows just how intense Disney Springs crowds have become.
Disney Springs is no longer just a casual shopping district. It has turned into a major entertainment destination filled with high-demand restaurants, stores, and seasonal events. On busy weekends, it draws crowds that rival the parks, and parking has become one of the biggest challenges.
If you plan to visit this weekend, arriving earlier in the day will likely make the experience much smoother. Once the afternoon rush hits, parking backups can build fast, and traffic congestion can easily become the most frustrating part of the visit.
Still, reopening Lime Garage—even temporarily—should help reduce some of the chaos and keep Disney Springs running more smoothly during one of the busiest weekends of the year.
