Just one day after reopening from a multi-day closure, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will shut its doors once again due to continuing chilly temperatures in Central Florida. The Walt Disney World Resort theme park is currently scheduled to reopen on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park closed on Monday, January 12, and will remain closed through Friday, January 16, due to freezing temperatures and frost warnings across Central Florida.

With temperatures forecasted to rise on Saturday, Walt Disney World Resort plans to operate Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park as scheduled on Saturday, January 17. The park will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Unfortunately, the water park operations will be short-lived. On Thursday, Walt Disney World Resort updated its website to reflect that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will once again be closed from Sunday, January 18, to Tuesday, January 20. The park is currently scheduled to reopen and operate from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is currently closed for refurbishment, so it remains unaffected by the freezing temperatures.

When Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park reopens on February 15, 2026, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will close for its seasonal refurbishment. Construction permits suggest that Walt Disney World Resort plans to rebuild the Humunga Kowabunga waterslide during the closure, following a lawsuit about a “painful wedgie” on the ride.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will reopen by May 26, 2026, when the Cool Kid Summer season begins at Walt Disney World Resort. Both Central Florida Disney water parks are scheduled to operate simultaneously from May 26 through September 8, and Disney Resort hotel guests will receive complimentary admission to their chosen water park on check-in day.
