The entrance to one Walt Disney World Resort may look different when it reopens next month. Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park has been closed since September 2025, and as part of the refurbishment, crews have removed much of the iconic park entry sign that welcomes visitors. Here’s what we know about the construction.

As refurbishment work wraps up at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, crews have abruptly removed much of the iconic park entry sign (pictured above). According to a report from WDWNT on Monday, January 26, scaffolding and traffic cones now surround much of the billboard-style display.

The digital sign remains functional, displaying a variety of messages informing guests of the current closure, encouraging them to visit Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park instead, and detailing the operating hours of the nearby Winter Summerland Mini Golf Course. The rotation includes: “BLIZZARD BEACH IS CLOSED,” “FOR REFURBISHMENT,” “SKI YA AT TYPHOON LAGOON,” and “Winter Summerland 10am – 10pm.”

All of the text on the sign has been removed, except for the small arrow reading “THIS WAY.” The park’s mascot, Ice Gator, has also disappeared from his perch on top of the sun in the upper left corner.

The ski slope background mural on the sign shows visible wear and tear, with certain sections completely devoid of paint. It’s unclear whether Disney plans to repair or replace the entire sign or just portions of it.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will reopen on February 15, 2026, at which point Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will close for seasonal maintenance. The final day to visit Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is Saturday, February 14.

Both water parks will be operational beginning May 26, 2026, through September 8. All summer long, Disney Resort hotel guests receive complimentary water park entry on their check-in day.
