The reality of a permanent closure at the Disney Springs shopping, dining, and entertainment district is setting in for Disney Parks fans…
In late December 2025, Walt Disney World Resort quietly removed the D-Tech merchandise customization shop from the Marketplace Co-Op store, leaving just one D-Tech MaDe customization location in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park.
However, on January 1, all of the customization kiosks in the gift shop near Space Mountain also closed, forever erasing the personalizable souvenirs from the merchandise offerings at Walt Disney World Resort. Sadly, some Disney Parks fans are only now beginning to realize what they have lost.
D-Tech Kiosks

At Disney Springs’ D-Tech or the MaDe kiosk location in Tomorrowland, guests could customize phone cases, smartwatch bands, MagicBands, magnets, and more with messages, colors, and hundreds of licensed images from the worlds of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, The Muppets, Star Wars, and more.
The made-to-order souvenir was perfect for guests who wanted something uniquely theirs to remember a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. For some Disney Parks fans, getting a new D-Tech case for their updated cell phone was a tradition.
Disney Springs Says Goodbye to D-Tech

Although the customizable souvenirs disappeared from Disney Springs in December and Magic Kingdom Park on New Year’s Day, some Disney Parks fans are only just realizing that they’re gone for good. X (formerly known as Twitter) user Alicia Stella (@AliciaStella) lamented the loss in response to the removal of a photo-op that used to sit near the former D-Tech location in the Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs:
Nevermind the photo op, the D-Tech is just gone. Gone forever.

This post informed many Disney Parks fans that D-Tech had closed. Many shocked commenters said they’d miss creating new customizable souvenirs on their next Walt Disney World Resort vacation. From @NealHunterHyde:
WHAaaaaa!?! Well, damn. We used to get get custom cases there almost every trip.
Granted, didn’t buy one this last fall, the cases didn’t support MagSafe charging or stands (or something), so it wouldn’t be a case I’d actually use.

“That’s so sad,” said @theparkexplorer. “Thought it was a cool option to customize your tech accessories.”

Others Say Good Riddance

Despite the nostalgic responses from some Disney Parks fans, many argued that the quality-to-price value at D-Tech had significantly decreased in recent years. @rainyloona wrote:
the dtech cases were bad anyways they literally scratched so easy and took the design from the back off

“It’s gone from Disneyland as well,” @guyselga replied. “Sucks because the cases used to be good. Then in recent years the designs scratch off almost instantly. Huge drop in quality.”
