Shortly after 2:15 p.m. on Monday, December 22, first responders rushed to Disney Springs after a 911 call reporting a fire inside the outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment complex at Walt Disney World Resort. The news broke via the X (formerly known as Twitter) account @WDWActiveCrime, which monitors and reports scanner activity throughout the Central Florida Disney property:

It’s unclear exactly where inside Disney Springs the fire broke out. Emergency calls at Walt Disney World Resort are generally routed to centralized addresses rather than the exact location of the incident, so the pinned spot on the Google Maps screenshot is unlikely to match where law enforcement has responded.

Local authorities occasionally release reports about incidents at Walt Disney World Resort, but have not done so in this incident. However, if it’s a small kitchen fire or something that can be resolved quickly without causing injuries or significant damage, public information may not become available.

Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park are operating normally, so theme park guests don’t need to worry about any impacts from Monday afternoon’s fire.

According to the My Disney Experience app, all the shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues at Disney Springs remain open. However, guests visiting the outdoor complex are encouraged to avoid areas where first responders are at work. If you smell or see a fire, report it to the nearest Disney cast member or other venue staff member.
