A strong round of rain and cooler air is on the way to Central Florida, and the incoming weather could play a significant role in how Walt Disney World handles its water-park operations next week. According to the latest forecast via Click Orlando, a series of systems will sweep across the region this weekend, beginning with scattered showers on Saturday and transitioning into widespread rain by Sunday.

Rain chances climb from 30–50% Saturday afternoon to as high as 80% late Sunday, with a little possibility of isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures will also take a noticeable dip: after a warm stretch in the low to mid-80s, highs will fall into the mid-70s by Sunday, and the start of next week may settle into the upper 60s and 70s, with cooler nights.

“From Saturday through Monday, a sloppy weather pattern settles in,” Click Orlando explains. “The weak front over North Florida sags into Central Florida and gradually fades, while another low-pressure system takes shape along the northern Gulf Coast on Sunday. That developing low will then help pull a stronger cold front through the region late Sunday into Monday.”

Recent weeks have already shown how quickly the weather can influence operations at Walt Disney World. During Thanksgiving weekend, one of the resort’s water parks–Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park–shut down as chilly temperatures moved in; a reminder that these closures can happen with little notice when conditions no longer meet safety or comfort standards.

With another cooldown now approaching and substantial rainfall expected across the region—particularly north and west of the I-4 corridor, where totals could reach 1–3 inches—visitors should be prepared for the possibility of similar adjustments.

While Typhoon Lagoon still shows operating hours posted for next week, the unpredictable combination of rain, wind, and cooler air means guests should stay closely tuned to the official calendar. Even if the park technically remains open, the weather may make a visit far less appealing, and Disney has a history of modifying water-park schedules when conditions shift.

For anyone planning a trip in the coming days, flexibility will be key: monitor the forecast regularly, check Disney’s daily updates, and keep alternative plans in mind in case the weather prompts further schedule changes.
