The Last Jedi was a major disappointment, particularly in how it handled Luke – which to me ruined it. Luke, the character who fought off the temptations of the Emperor (where his father had not), fought so hard to save his sister, but also was adamant his father was redeemable that he refused to defend himself – would then later just give up on his nephew and sister’s son Ben Solo to the point he would come close to killing him – pushing Ben Solo even further towards the Dark Side? That doesn’t sound like the same character at all and the film’s biggest failure.
I keep reading Star Wars projects off and on, off and on, off then on again. This is fatiguing. They seem to have one issue after another. They should do a reality tv show about all their squabbles. It can fill in the gap of nothing coming out. Or pull the effing plug!
First off, Tom:
We knew the Rian Johnson trilogy was never going to happen. Especially after vast majority of fans decided they hated his guts for what he did to the franchise. Secondly there is no Ray movie there will never be a ray movie. Let it go. Thirdly no one really behind the Hunt for Ben solo except for the last remaining Ray blows
Let’s just forget everything after the original trilogy, except maybe Rogue One, and the 1st season of Mando. Genndy Tartakovsky was the only good thing from the animated side as well. Let’s get ppl who love sci-fi and Star Wars to work on these projects, not whatever these imbeciles have churned out. Tons of Star Wars content sitting on the shelves over the past 3 decades and these morons thought they could do it better to push the modern audience west coast BS. I hear Kurtzman is out too, maybe him and KK can finally create their love child abomination.
So glad this got canceled. Rian Johnson shouldn’t he allowed near a Star Wars project, ever again. I’d rather watch an entire film about Jar Jar Binks than to see anything in the Star Wars universe he’s had a hand in, ever again. Nothing had turned me away from this universe since 1977, but Rian came VERY close!
I have a feeling that we haven’t seen anything yet. Wait until we see what happens with that feminist Indian woman –the one who said that she enjoys making men uncomfortable. I’m pretty sure she’s going to create a cinematic abortion.
As far as I’m concerned, the Star Wars saga ended with Return of the Jedi. Anything after that is just fan fiction, with the possible exception of Rogue One.
Thankfully the guy who directed the last jedi has been axed from future projects. When you have mark hamill questioning your decisions you should take that as a sign that you haven’t a clue what you are doing. A vocal minority may have enjoyed TLJ but by and large the fan base rejected that garbage just like they rejected that flaming turd called the acolyte. Just give all future projects to filoni and favereau.
Despite fans calling for the directors head and not liking the movie the last jedi, it still managed to be a critical success and box office success at that taking £1.3 billion at the box office
I liked it personally and some others I watched it with liked it, we didn’t read to much into it as just another star wars blockbuster, but the amount of on off on off it’s like they are grasping at straws to try come up with ideas to keep the franchise going, leave it a bit take the time and come up with something mind blowing entertaining instead of just banged out dross under the mantle of star wars just for the sake of it

Thank goodness, a Johnson trilogy would have flopped hard, and that money should be sent to projects that fans will actually enjoy.
Star Wars is great
Please stop it with the Rian Johnson trilogy, it’s never going to happen and we’ve known it isn’t happening for almost a decade. You guys suck !!!

lol the comments didn’t disappoint. I can smell the unwashed sheets and old bottles of Mountain Dew piled up next to the tissues. Nerds.

Star Wars was my childhood. They finished the saga(Whether i liked it or not).Just let it rest.Feel the same about James Bond.We don’t need any more.

To me the biggest mistake of Star Wars was killing Luke off

I canceled Disney+ because Disney puts out Star Wars material too slow and inconsistently
