Guests go into the Disney parks expecting magic, though there’s one other thing they can count on seeing: operational updates. Whether it be large-scale renovations of classic attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean or Matterhorn Bobsleds, or simple tweaks to hotels, stores, and restaurants, guests can bet their Mickey ears that something will be in the process of being updated during their vacation.

This is especially true for Disneyland, with the original theme park resort set to undergo many changes soon.

One of these changes revolves around Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration, a popular parade at Disney California Adventure. According to Disney officials, this parade will not be coming back in 2026.

The daytime parade first made its debut in 2024. The attraction featured close to 30 different Pixar films. The show has been on hiatus since August 4, 2025.

This is hardly the only thing changing at Disney California Adventure, as the park is set to undergo significant transformations over the next few years. In early 2026, popular dark ride Monsters Inc. Mike & Sully to the Rescue will close permanently to make way for the park’s upcoming Avatar expansion.

That’s right, Disney is giving Disneyland an Avatar makeover. Pandora – The World of Avatar has been a hit ever since it opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2017, making a West Coast version a no-brainer.

More details on the land were shared at Disney’s D23 conference in 2024. Concept art for the land reveals a highly themed and intricately detailed landscape for guests to explore. It’s unknown what kind of rides and attractions the land will feature, but it will likely include at least one water-based experience.

Amidst all these changes, work is continuing on expanding the park’s Marvel-themed land, Avengers Campus. While already home to two attractions, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout and Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure, it will soon be home to two more rides.

One of these new experiences will be an immersive dark ride similar in nature to Disney’s Rise of the Resistance and Universal’s The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. The other will be a simpler flat ride that takes guests up high and twirls them around using large robotic arms.
