The Zootopia 2 hype train is now full steam ahead, with the highly anticipated animated film releasing in theaters on November 26. The sequel comes nine years after the original, and if history is any guide, Zootopia 2 will likely take the top spot at the box office.

However, Disney isn’t limiting the animal fun to the big screen, as the company has created several Zootopia 2-themed experiences for its theme parks.

Earlier this year, Zootopia: Better Zoogether opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The 4D theater show replaces the park’s original attraction, It’s Tough to Be a Bug, taking the audience through a brand-new adventure led by Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.

Movie tie-ins aren’t exclusive to Disney’s American parks, as Shanghai Disney Resort is joining in on the fun too. Announced today, guests visiting Shanghai Disneyland can now catch a special new presentation at the park’s central castle inspired by Zootopia 2.

Projection mapping technology turns the iconic castle into a Zootopia 2 masterpiece, featuring characters from the film. Guests can catch the show starting today, November 19, all the way through January 27, 2026.

The castle is dyed in Zootopia colors!  New projection mapping with a Zootopia 2 theme! Accompanied by Gazelle’s powerful singing voice, embark on a new adventure with Judy, Nick, and new character Gary!   From today until January 27, 2026 (Tue), come experience a world of sparkling light and shadow where “anyone can become anything”!   *The performance may be subject to change or cancellation due to weather or other reasons.

The Shanghai Disney Resort is located in Pudong, Shanghai, China, and features some truly incredible attractions. Among the classic attractions, guests will also find a stunning version of Pirates of the Caribbean here, as well as the original version of TRON Lightcycle / Run.

Shanghai Disneyland was the first of Disney’s theme parks to feature a Zootopia-inspired ride. Called Zootopia: Hot Pursuit, this trackless dark ride has been a major hit ever since it opened at the resort in 2023. More on the attraction below:

Zootopia: Hot Pursuit invites you on a wild police chase in one of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde’s cruisers! You’ll slide across the ice of Tundratown, prowl for fugitives through the streets of Sahara Square, and weave through the Rainforest District, all in pursuit of Bellwether and her gang to track down Gazelle. It’s a riveting chase that can only happen in Zootopia!

It’s anyone’s guess as to what Disney plans to do with the franchise once the sequel comes out, but it certainly feels like we’re in a new age of Zootopia fever.
