Those visiting the Walt Disney World Resort never expect that their vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth will end in evacuation, but that’s what happened to those at EPCOT theme park on Halloween.
As posted by Wallandwfhatdisney on TikTok, guests on board the Living with the Land attraction in the World Nature area of EPCOT were faced with a sinking boat and subsequently evacuated from the ride.
Living with the Land at EPCOT offers a calm (most times) yet fascinating glimpse into how Disney combines innovation with nature. Located inside The Land Pavilion, this slow-moving boat ride takes guests through various ecosystems–from rainforests to deserts–before entering massive working greenhouses.
Here, Disney scientists showcase cutting-edge farming techniques, including hydroponics and aquaponics, which grow real crops used in EPCOT restaurants such as Garden Grill and Sunshine Seasons.
With nearly 30,000 views, the event shows one of the Living with the Land boats sinking on one side with guests still aboard. The caption of the video reads: “Current situation. Boat in front of me started to sink and all occupants had to evacuate. We ended up chilling in our boat until cast members escorted us off and out the back. And people say living with the land is boring!!”

First opening in 1982, the attraction continues to embody EPCOT’s original spirit of discovery, offering guests a glimpse into how sustainable agriculture can help feed the future.
As a reminder, Living with the Land will be undergoing changes this month, as the official Walt Disney World website explains: “From November 28 to December 30, 2025, Living with the Land – Glimmering Greenhouses will be offered. During this time, Living with the Land will not be available.”
While not expected to happen, breakdowns and evacuations are common at theme park resorts like Walt Disney World. Over the many decades since the parks opened in Central Florida, many reports have been made about impromptu events like these taking place.
