There’s a lot to do at the Magic Kingdom. From classic dark rides and adventurous thrill rides to crowd-pleasing dining and snack options, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
Being the oldest park at the resort, it’s no surprise that Magic Kingdom would have the most things to do, ride, eat, and explore. The park really lives up to its name, with magical experiences around every corner.
However, despite all this magic, the Magic Kingdom is still part of the real world.
During a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, reporters at WDWNT noticed Pete’s Silly Sideshow tent is torn. The tent is ripped along the entire seam from the top to the very bottom.
The tent that houses Dumbo the Flying Elephant is also in rough shape, according to the site. These two locations are found in Storybook Circus, an offshoot of Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland.
Pet’s Silly Sideshow tent serves as a place where guests can meet Donald Duck and Goofy.

Guests can expect the Magic Kingdom to change significantly over the next few years, with new lands, rides, attractions, and more on the way. Work is already underway on bringing the park’s newest area to life, Piston Peak. Inspired by Pixar’s Cars franchise as well as real-life natural parks, Piston Peak will have plenty of new things to offer, including an off-roading racing thrill ride.
While exciting, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding Piston Peak. Some fans have argued that the world of Cars doesn’t belong in Magic Kingdom. However, most fans are upset by the location of the new area.
To make room for Piston Peak, Disney said goodbye to the Magic Kingdom’s Rivers of America. The artificial waterways have flowed throughout the park’s Frontierland since the very beginning, but ran dry this summer after they closed permanently.
Tom Sawyer Island and Liberty Square Riverboat also closed permanently this summer, marking one of the most significant closures Magic Kingdom has ever seen.

Alongside Piston Peak, fans can also look forward to Magic Kingdom’s upcoming Villains Land. Announced last year during Disney’s D23 event, Magic Kingdom’s new Villains Land will be one of the park’s largest and most significant expansions yet.
Not many details are known, but concept art (shown above) shows off a dark, gothic land full of jagged rocks, thorny branches, and secret caverns. At the top of it all is a castle, which will no doubt serve as the land’s centerpiece.
It’s unclear where exactly the new land will be located or when it will open, but guests can expect Magic Kingdom to be a construction zone for the foreseeable future.
