Universal Orlando Resort has announced an abrupt hiatus for one park staple.
In recent years, the resort has undergone dramatic changes. Epic Universe opened in May 2025, instantly becoming Universal’s biggest draw with themed lands from SUPER NINTENDO WORLD to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.

The project cemented Universal’s role as Disney’s fiercest rival in Central Florida, with Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment and Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry proving most popular with guests (despite the disappointing changes made to the latter attraction).
At the original park, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit closed in August 2025 after well over a decade of operation. Its towering track (and personalized soundtrack) are no more, with Universal making quick work of demolishing the attraction to make way for what is rumored to be a Ghostbusters-themed attraction.
The resort has also introduced DreamWorks Land, a family-friendly zone bringing Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda into immersive environments. Replacing Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone, the new land expands Universal’s lineup for younger audiences, but also drew criticism for looking cheap compared to other Universal theme park lands.

Now, another shift is arriving – though much temporary.

The parade premiered in July 2024, showcasing Universal’s film legacy in one of its largest street productions to date. With over 100 performers, the show features properties like Jurassic World, Ghostbusters, E.T., and Trolls.

“Your favorite movie characters leap off the screen and spring to life in a daytime parade,” Universal says on its website. “Excite all your emotions as you feel the roar of the T. rex, enjoy the adventure of E.T., embrace your true colors with Trolls and more. You’ll laugh, you’ll cheer, you’ll relive memorable movie moments the whole family can enjoy.”
The parade, which features over 100 performers, typically runs through the park’s Hollywood area.
Universal has yet to confirm the cause of the last-minute maintenance. It currently lists its return date as October 22, but this date is subject to change.
