Disney’s Animal Kingdom visitors should plan accordingly, as Harambe Market in the Africa section of the park will temporarily close starting October 20. The closure comes as Disney begins updates to the popular quick-service location in preparation for a refreshed menu that will feature burgers and chicken strips, ahead of the planned closure of Restaurantosaurus next year.

A Planned Closure

The beloved Harambe Market, known for its vibrant African-inspired décor and diverse dining options, has long been a favorite stop for park-goers looking for quick bites while exploring the Animal Kingdom. While the market will be closed for several months, Disney has confirmed that the updated location is expected to reopen early next year, offering guests a fresh selection of casual dining favorites.

The menu changes are part of Disney’s broader efforts to maintain a variety of accessible, family-friendly dining options as certain restaurants undergo operational shifts. With Restaurantosaurus set to close, the updated Harambe Market will help fill the gap for classic theme park fare, including kid-friendly options like burgers and chicken strips.

A New Animal Kingdom Awaits

Guests visiting the Animal Kingdom during the closure period are encouraged to explore other dining locations throughout the park, including the Flame Tree Barbecue, Satu’li Canteen, and Tamu Tamu Refreshments, all of which offer popular meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Disney has not announced any other changes beyond the menu update, but visitors can expect the updated Harambe Market to maintain the vibrant, immersive atmosphere that has made it a highlight of Animal Kingdom’s Africa area.

For fans eager to try the new offerings, keep an eye on the official Disney Parks website and app for reopening announcements and menu previews as early next year approaches.
