The internet can be a wild and wacky place. It can also be a great source for misinformation, and Disney fans found that out the hard way this week.
Earlier in the week, Disney fans on social media started a campaign to save the Evil Queen from Snow White and her Disney Villain friends after a rumor started that they were being removed from Disneyland permanently. The rumor was started by none other than the Evil Queen herself.
A bunch of social media videos of the Evil Queen began circulating this week on social media, where the Queen told fans to “go complain” to Disney and “tell them you want me year around.” This led to speculation that Disney would be removing the Disney Villains from Disneyland after Halloween as a cost-cutting measure.

This led to immediate backlash from Disney fans, who flooded Disneyland’s customer service centers with complaints about the loss of the Evil Queen and her fellow Villains. Speculation continued that Disney was cutting the characters to keep them exclusively for the new Villains Land at Magic Kingdom, which further angered Disney’s West Coast fans.
But, alas, the internet was incorrect, and all this outrage was for nothing. A Disney spokesperson confirmed that the Evil Queen and her minions were not leaving the parks.

The spokesperson confirmed that Disney Villains would not be leaving Disneyland after Halloween, and their interactions with guests were a meaningful experience for their guests. The spokesperson also confirmed that characters rotate seasonally, and while there are more Disney Villains currently in the parks for Halloween, none of them have been discontinued.

That appears to put this particular Disneyland rumor to rest, for now. However, it’s always important to remember what President Abraham Lincoln always said, “Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.”
