The security protocol for guests at one popular Disney park is about to change. Here’s the latest update on the ongoing construction of the new security area.
In April 2025, Inside the Magic first reported on the construction of a new security area at the Disney Village shopping and dining district at Disneyland Paris Resort — the European Disney park’s version of Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney District or Walt Disney World Resort’s Disney Springs. This is just one of many ongoing construction projects in the area, including the development of a modern new McDonald’s to replace the current fast-food restaurant.

Now, a Disneyland Paris Resort guest has shared an updated look at the construction of the new security checkpoint leading into Disney Village. On Tuesday, X (formerly known as Twitter) user @DLPReport shared this photo of a new roof on the checkpoint, which is visible above construction walls with the Gaumont cinema in the background:

Later, the same Disneyland Paris Resort guest shared two aerial photos showing the ongoing construction, which is hidden behind the barriers from Disney Park guests on the ground.

Although crews have constructed the roof and architectural supports of the security checkpoint, it seems that the project still has a long way to go. There are building materials and construction equipment scattered throughout the area, and the ground is still brown dirt. New concrete or other outdoor flooring has not been poured.

It’s unclear when the new security checkpoint is expected to reopen in the Disney Village shopping and dining district at Disneyland Paris Resort. Follow Inside the Magic for updates on this and other projects at Disney parks around the world!
