In the heart of the park, a massive construction zone has taken over what used to be an already somewhat congested area, and it’s creating chaos for guests just trying to get around.
This isn’t just your typical construction wall situation. The area is so congested that Disney has actually stationed Cast Members in front of it holding signs that say “Stay Right.” Yes, traffic directors at a theme park walkway. It’s become that bad.
A Wall That’s Impossible to Ignore
For weeks now, construction walls have surrounded the future Walt Disney Studios area inside the park. While Disney has tried to decorate them with concept art, that hasn’t changed the fact that the walls are huge and in the middle of a major guest walkway.
The pathway is so narrow at this point that it’s creating a human traffic jam every day, especially during peak afternoon hours when guests are moving between lands. To try and keep people from colliding or clogging up the flow, Disney added a temporary ramp and stationed Cast Members to wave guests along in one direction, but with the crazy amount of strollers, wheelchairs, and ECVs that make their way through the park daily, the ramps are still congested.
It’s not exactly the most glamorous part of the park right now.

Where the Bottleneck Begins
This messy situation is happening close to the center of the park—between some of the most popular attractions and entertainment spots. This area has always been busy, but with the construction zone eating up so much of the path, it’s now a full-on bottleneck.
It’s the kind of situation where stroller traffic, wheelchairs, and families with big groups collide. People who try to stop to take photos or check the map end up creating instant backups. And with the temporary ramp acting as the main thoroughfare, it feels more like navigating an airport security line than a Disney theme park.
A “Magical” Upgrade… Sort Of
Disney recently tried to make the situation a little more bearable by putting up colorful signs and concept art of what’s coming next. The new Walt Disney Studios area, set to open in 2026, will include The Magic of Disney Animation and a new family play space called Drawn to Wonderland.
But for many guests, that doesn’t solve the problem right now. The walls are still massive, the space is still tight, and the traffic is worse than ever. Decorating a construction wall doesn’t make it disappear.
The Guest Experience Factor
For a park that already struggles with tight walkways, this kind of pinch point makes a big impact. Crowded pathways can lead to longer travel times between attractions, frustrated guests, and even safety concerns during high-capacity days.
When the Cast Members are reduced to holding “stay right” signs just to keep traffic flowing, it’s a sign that something isn’t working. Guests expecting a smooth, immersive Disney experience are instead getting a shoulder-to-shoulder shuffle past gray walls.
A Long Wait Ahead
Here’s the kicker: this isn’t going away anytime soon. The new land is still under heavy construction and isn’t expected to open until summer 2026. That means the walls—and the headaches—are here for the long haul.
For now, the best thing guests can do is plan ahead and give themselves extra time to navigate this area. If you’re heading to Hollywood Studios soon, be prepared to follow the “stay right” signs and squeeze through with the rest of the crowd.
