Walt Disney World Resort has rolled out new costumes for the Disney cast members working at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Magic Kingdom Park. The update comes alongside several changes to the experience, including simplified pricing tiers and the introduction of visits from the Fairy Godmother during young guests’ makeovers.

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a salon experience for guests aged three to twelve in Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park (the locations at Disney Springs and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa never reopened following the COVID-19 pandemic). Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices help young guests transform into their favorite Disney Princess, a charming knight, or even one of the sisters from Encanto (2021). Packages include anything from a pink T-shirt and sash to a deluxe gown.

Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort revamped the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience in 2022, allowing Disney cast members of all genders to work at the salon. Previously, only Disney cast members who identified as female could work there, and were known as Fairy Godmothers In Training. The update introduced both feminine and masculine costumes for salon employees, now known as Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices.

Now, according to a report from WDWNT, Walt Disney World Resort has introduced new costumes for the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices at Magic Kingdom Park. The new costumes are similar to those worn by Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique cast members on Disney Wish, a Disney Cruise Line vessel. Inspired by the Fairy Godmother herself, the costumes feature a white, long-sleeve button-up under a periwinkle blue vest, matching periwinkle blue pants, a maroon bow tie, and a brooch (almost identical to the one featured in the old costumes).

Previously, feminine-identifying Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices wore purple, pink, or blue frocks with light-colored short-sleeve button-ups underneath, long purple skirts, and blue or pink headbands with veils. Masculine-identifying cast members wore a purple vest and slacks. Now, it seems all Bibbibidi Bobbidi Boutique employees will wear the same gender-neutral outfit, regardless of their personal gender identification.

The Disneyland Park Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique location rolled out the same experience changes this month. Still, it’s unclear whether the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices there will wear the same new costumes as the Magic Kingdom Park cast members.
