Big things could be on the way for “The Happiest Place on Earth,” with Disneyland reportedly following in Florida’s footsteps.

Guests have many ways to navigate the Disney theme parks, ranging from simple and easy bus services to scenic trips aboard the Monorail. Walt Disney World is exceptionally robust in this department. Due to the sheer size and scope of Disney’s Florida theme park resort, understanding the best ways to get around is key.
Perhaps the quickest and most efficient transport service in Walt Disney World is the Disney Skyliner. This gondola-style sky bucket system debuted in 2019 and has become the go-to transportation method for millions of travelers.
Walt Disney World and Disneyland are pretty evenly matched regarding transportation, though Disneyland is noticeably absent of a Skyliner.
However, this appears to be changing.

According to new reports, the City of Anaheim is considering building a gondola-style mass transportation system. City officials are studying a wide range of new options to connect “The Happiest Place on Earth” to Anaheim’s central transportation hub, the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC).
ARTIC connects multiple modes of transportation, including Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner and the Metrolink rail system.
City officials are investigating ways to reduce the amount of traffic flowing in and out of Disneyland Resort, something that a new Skyliner could solve. Other options, like a trackless streetcar system, are also being considered.
Reports suggest Anaheim hopes to wrap up the project in time for the Summer Olympics in 2028.
Several other projects are set to begin soon at Disneyland. Next fall, construction will begin on Disneyland’s new parking structure between Harbor Boulevard and I-5. Once this project is done, Disneyland plans to redesign its Toy Story parking lot area.
The actual theme parks are changing in significant ways, too. Next year, Disney California Adventure will say goodbye to Monsters Inc. Mike and Sully to the Rescue to make way for the park’s upcoming Avatar land. Like Pandora—The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which opened in 2017, Disneyland’s Avatar land is expected to feature a number of locations and attractions to explore.
Disneyland released updated concept art for this project earlier this year, showing off its bold and exciting vision for the expansion. In addition, Disneyland will soon start building new attractions inside its Avengers Campus area.
