After a lengthy construction project, the new version of the Sleeping Beauty Castle stage has debuted at Disneyland Park (Paris). However, the new area reportedly comes with “anti-guest” architecture designed to keep families out.

The Sleeping Beauty Castle stage closed last summer for an estimated nine-month refurbishment and improvement project. Disneyland Paris Resort seemingly underestimated the scope of the work, and guests walking through the iconic Disney Park structure were greeted by construction walls for over a year.

Luckily, according to X (formerly known as Twitter) user @DLPReport, the Sleeping Beauty Castle stage refurbishment project is finally complete. On September 22, the Disney Park guest shared several photos of the updated entertainment venue, which includes new anti-slip flooring, more backstage space for Disney cast members, and, reportedly, “anti-guest” barriers that prevent visitors from climbing onto the stage or into other restricted areas.

🔧 After 15 months of construction (originally estimated to be 9), Castle Stage was unveiled over the weekend. It features a new anti-slip stage, anti-guests edges, new backstage rooms technical enhancements and overall refurbishment:

The most noticeable changes are on the back side of the Sleeping Beauty Castle stage, where it’s clear that there are new backstage rooms for performers, technicians, and other Disney cast members working on entertainment offerings in the area. From @DLPReport:

🔧 The back side of Castle Stage looks the most strikingly different with access for the backstage rooms for tech and performers who won’t have to trek from the parade gate to get on stage anymore.

The end of the Sleeping Beauty Castle stage refurbishment also meant the reopening of Cinderella’s Wishing Well, which was blocked for much of the 15-month construction period. Disneyland Park (Paris) guests can also access the walkway to Sleeping Beauty Castle from this area. Check out @DLPReport’s images of the refreshed Wishing Well area below:

Over at Walt Disney Studios Park, work continues on the World of Frozen, which is set to open in spring 2026. At the same time, the second Disneyland Paris Resort theme park will rebrand as Disney Adventure World.

Construction crews are also working on several updates throughout the Disney Village shopping and dining district, including the development of a brand-new McDonald’s that will replace the current retro-inspired restaurant.
