It’s been 15 years since audiences last saw Mitchie Torres, Shane Grey, Nate Grey, and Jason Grey jam out at their beloved Camp Rock. The first film in the Camp Rock franchise premiered in 2008 and starred Demi Lovato as Mitchie, a young girl who dreams about going to music camp, but her family can’t afford it. When her mom gets a job catering the food at Camp Rock, Mitchie is thrilled to be able to attend. While there, she meets other talented kids and even develops feelings for Shane Grey (Joe Jonas), the lead singer of the band Connect 3.

Two years later, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam was released, with Lovato and the Jonas Brothers all returning. In this hit sequel, Camp Rock is at risk of closing due to the opening of Camp Star just down the road. Some former Camp Rockers decide to attend Camp Star, and it really shakes up the close-knit group at Camp Rock.
Camp Star challenges Camp Rock to a televised competition, and Mitchie agrees, but she soon learns that if Camp Rock loses, Camp Rock might have to close its doors. In the end, Camp Rock loses the competition (mainly due to Camp Star buying votes), but many of the students at Camp Star realize they would rather have a fun summer full of music than a summer driven by competition.
They head over to Camp Rock, and the camp is able to stay open.
