Guests will find all kinds of fun and magical experiences at Walt Disney World, though the most iconic attractions are found at Magic Kingdom. Being Disney’s original Florida theme park, Magic Kingdom holds a lot of special memories for fans and guests alike, featuring classic dark rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion as well as more intense experiences like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

The park has certainly changed over the years, but Magic Kingdom remains Disney’s most nostalgic, action-packed, and magical theme park at Walt Disney World. However, while rides like “it’s a small world” and Peter Pan’s Flight may be the first to come to mind when thinking of Magic Kingdom, the park has one major icon that pretty much everyone loves: The PeopleMover.

On Thursday, the attraction was covered and blocked by construction walls. According to reports, cast members stated the ride’s entrance was receiving maintenance.

This slow-moving attraction abruptly closed earlier this week but has since reopened.

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, often shortened to just The PeopleMover, is one of the quintessential experiences at Magic Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom’s PeopleMover opened on July 1, 1975, and was inspired by Disneyland’s original version of the ride, which closed in 1995.

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is located at the center of Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland. While this futuristic land may feature more intense and impressive rides and attractions, the PeopleMover offers perhaps one of the most unique and relaxing experiences at any of Disney’s Florida theme parks.

Once onboard, guests can sit back and unwind as their omnimover cart winds them around Tomorrowland, giving them a bird’s eye view of the land and Magic Kingdom as a whole.

One of the coolest aspects of the PeopleMover is that it interacts with other Magic Kingdom attractions. During this ride, guests will get a behind-the-scenes look at rides like Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, the latter of which closed earlier this summer for a lengthy renovation.
