Credit: LucasfilmThe first official trailer for the upcoming Star Wars film The Mandalorian & Grogu has finally been unveiled by Disney and Lucasfilm.
Set for release next May, the new movie sees the return of the titular bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu, the pint-sized Force wielder more famously known by fans as “Baby Yoda”. The upcoming film marks a first for the Star Wars franchise, as no other television series from the faraway galaxy has ever been given a silver-screen adaptation.
The Mandalorian & Grogu is also expected to serve as a replacement for Season 4 of the beloved Disney+ series. Watch the official trailer below:

The trailer thrusts Din Djarin and Grogu into an explosive adventure that spans the cosmos, while also introducing some familiar elements from the series that launched the pair into global stardom, including the iconic theme tune from Ludwig Göransson.
In the trailer, we see Grogu teaming up with his Anzellan friends (fans of The Rise of Skywalker‘s Babu Frik will be familiar), Imperial remnant AT-ATs, a pair of unnamed Hutts, Sigourney Weaver’s mysterious new character, and the Star Wars Rebels character Zeb Orrelios, who made a brief cameo in The Mandalorian.
Directed by Jon Favreau, who also produces alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni, The Mandalorian & Grogu is one of two upcoming confirmed Star Wars films — the other is Star Wars: Starfighter from director Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine). It stars Ryan Gosling (Blade Runner 2049) as the lead and is set for release in May, 2027.

The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu (as himself).
This clan of two is ready for the fight! A brand-new Razor Crest has landed in our first look at the highly-anticipated next chapter in the Mandalorian’s story, alongside glimpses of Din Djarin and Grogu on their next adventure!
The Mandalorian & Grogu stars Sigourney Weaver (Ghostbusters), Jeremy Allen White (The Bear), and Jonny Coyne (The Nun), and, of course, Pedro Pascal.
The film lands in theaters on May 22, 2026.
