Disney has canceled the first sailing of its upcoming Disney Adventure Cruise ship. The company confirmed Thursday, September 11, that the Disney Adventure, the newest ship set to join Disney’s ever-expanding cruise line, will no longer depart Singapore’s Marina Bay Cruise Centre on December 15, 2025.

The ship’s maiden voyage has been rescheduled to March 10, 2026, a delay of three months.

In a statement, Joe Schott, president of Disney Signature Experiences, said the change of plans was due to “unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process”.

“To ensure the experience we deliver reflects our commitment to excellence, we’ve made the decision to adjust our timeline,” he said. “We know this may be disappointing to our guests, and we’re working directly with them to offer flexible rebooking options and uphold the trust they place in us.”

According to a Disney Cruise Line spokesperson, a total of 25 sailings will be affected due to this change.

The Disney Adventure was set to be delivered to Disney Cruise Line in September. Guests who had trips booked between December 15, 2025, and March 12, 2026, have been notified of the change in plans.

Guests who do not adjust their reservation will automatically be scheduled for the new March sailing. Those unable to travel on the new dates will receive a full refund and a voucher for 50% off a future Disney Cruise Line trip.

This offer is good for select sailings through March 31, 2027.

In 2022, Disney purchased an unfinished ship from Genting Hong Kong called the Global Dream for €40 million. Disney used this first-of-its-kind deal to build an ambitious new vessel, the Disney Adventure.

Disney has significantly upgraded its cruise ship fleet over the last few years, with even more changes and additions coming in the next decade. The Disney Wish set sail in 2022, with the Disney Treasure hitting the high seas in December 2024.

Disney’s next cruise ship, the Disney Destiny, is scheduled to make its maiden voyage on November 20, 2025. Like previous ships in the fleet, the Disney Destiny will have its own special theme and story, this time centered around classic Disney heroes and villains. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will also play a significant role on the ship.
