Disneyland Resort is updating its daily schedule, with both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park set to close earlier than usual beginning this Sunday, August 31. According to the Disneyland Resort website, Disneyland Park will operate from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., while Disney California Adventure will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

This change reflects a broader trend at theme parks, where operating hours often fluctuate throughout the year based on attendance patterns, seasonal events, and operational considerations. Guests planning a visit are encouraged to check the official Disneyland Resort website for the most current schedule, as hours can change unexpectedly.

A Change in Hours

Early closures may impact evening entertainment, dining, and other experiences within the parks. Visitors should plan accordingly to ensure they make the most of their day, particularly if they had been counting on staying for late-night shows or dining options.

While Disneyland Resort has not offered specific reasons for the adjustment, early closures are not uncommon during periods of lower attendance or in preparation for maintenance and park operations. Historically, both parks have modified their schedules throughout the year to balance guest demand with operational efficiency.

It should also be noted that there will be several other early closures throughout the season due to the Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween party. The Holiday events coming later in the year will also lead to earlier closures as well.

Some guests have been expressing upset about the early closure, with one guest saying:

“Prices go up what you get goes wayyyyy down.”

Should You Be Upset?

Guests looking to maximize their visit should review park maps, make dining reservations in advance, and consider using Disney Lightning Lane to streamline access to popular attractions, especially as the shorter hours could impact ride wait times in the evening.

As always, Disneyland Resort continues to update visitors with real-time information on park hours and offerings, ensuring guests can plan their day effectively even amid scheduling changes.
