Walt Disney World Resort’s Halloween parade recently paused due to a malfunction with one of the character performer’s costumes. A Magic Kingdom Park guest shared a video of the incident on social media, commending the Disney cast member for their handling of the emergency.

Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade is a fan-favorite part of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park. The parade performs twice nightly exclusively on party nights, and features floats inspired by the Haunted Mansion (including the iconic Grave Diggers), Pirates of the Caribbean/Peter Pan (1953), the Disney Villains, and more. The Headless Horseman kicks off the show with an eerie ride starting in Frontierland, through Liberty Square, and down Main Street, U.S.A.

On August 26, Instagram user @gallivant.with.katie shared a video taken during a recent performance of Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade at Magic Kingdom Park. The Disney Park guest explained that everyone watching the parade initially thought Ursula, the villain from The Little Mermaid (1989), had stopped to dance. After a while, they realized the moving platform that the Disney character performer stands on had gotten stuck in the trolley tracks on Main Street, U.S.A.

As the Disney Park guest noted, Ursula stayed in character throughout the incident and did her best to entertain the guests watching Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade. Eventually, technicians arrived, and Ursula used a hand signal to explain the problem as they rushed to fix it.

“Cast Members are HIGHLY trained for anything and if this isn’t proof, I don’t know what is!” the Walt Disney World Resort guest concluded.

The technician tried multiple times to get Ursula unstuck as she continued dancing and waving to guests. After “a few minutes,” the cast member stepped away, and Ursula floated down Main Street, U.S.A. Spectators cheered as Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade finally resumed; luckily, the performance didn’t have to be canceled.

The video amassed attention from Disney Parks fans online, many of whom commended the Magic Kingdom Park cast members who worked to maintain the magic for guests during this mishap.

“I always think it’s so cool to watch the background dancers, in this case flotsam jetsam,” @schroedermc26 commented. “They notice she’s not moving anymore and know that’s off beat and they know to circle and distract while they fix it it’s cool.”

Others empathized with Ursula. After all, what Magic Kingdom Park guest hasn’t gotten a stroller wheel stuck in or tripped over the trolley tracks on Main Street, U.S.A.?

“Get my stroller wheels caught in the trolley tracks all the time,” said @tedd_stepan. “They’ll getcha!!”

“My ankles are not fans of the trolley tracks!” @mybestmani replied.
