While places like Disneyland and Walt Disney World may be best known for their collection of classic rides and attractions, recent additions have proven that no one in the theme park business is doing it quite like Disney.
From exciting new roller coasters like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and TRON Lightcycle / Run to impressive dark rides like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Walt Disney Imagineering continues to deliver fresh ideas and experiences to theme park guests.
Highly themed and immersive dark rides have been a focus for Disney for quite some time, though the company has kicked things up a notch over the last decade.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is often considered to be the best attraction Disney has ever created, and for good reason. The ride blends an overwhelming number of effects and elements together to create an unbelievably realistic and gripping experience set in the Star Wars universe.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is another excellent example, having become a staple of the resort in just a few years. This dark ride seeks to transport guests into the world of Pixar’s 2007 animated classic, shrinking them down to the size of rats.
However, while popular, one aspect of the attraction has left guests disappointed. Now, the original version of this ride is changing forever.

Ratatouille: The Adventure, the version of the ride located at Disneyland Paris, is closing for a major refurbishment this October. The attraction is set to receive significant upgrades throughout the experience, the biggest of which will see the ride switch from 3D to 2D. Since opening, Ratatouille: The Adventure has required guests to wear 3D glasses to fully experience the different show scenes.
This aspect has been quite controversial, with some fans arguing that Disneyland Paris should simply eliminate the 3D effects on the screens.
It seems like the resort listened, as the attraction will be converted from a 3D-based experience to a 2D one during this upcoming refurbishment.
Alongside the technology change, Ratatouille: The Adventure will receive new props and a new queue scene.
Ratatouille: The Adventure is set to reopen in Spring 2026.
What this means for the Walt Disney World ride version is unknown, though guests could also see Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure change at EPCOT.
Ratatouille: The Adventure opened at Walt Disney Studios Park in 2014. Over the last decade, it has become one of the most popular attractions at the European resort. The ride blends classic Disney dark ride elements with modern-day technology, taking riders through a hectic day at Gusteau’s alongside Remy and his friends.
In 2021, Disney brought the ride to its Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, naming it Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. The ride was a perfect fit, located inside the France Pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase.
