There is a ton of magic to be found during a Walt Disney World Resort trip. From thrilling roller coasters like Expedition Everest and Space Mountain to incredible dining at restaurants like Ohana and Victoria & Albert’s, there’s something for anyone and everyone to enjoy at “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”
A huge part of the resort’s draw is its atmosphere, something Disney works hard to maintain. Employees known as cast members can be seen all around the parks, taking out the trash, offering help to guests, and just generally being friendly toward visitors.
However, Disney’s atmosphere also relies on the behavior of guests, something that tends to be a little harder to control. Walt Disney World has a number of rules guests are expected to follow during their trips, but one guests was recently caught doing the unthinkable.
On Tuesday, July 8, a guest was caught flying their own personal drone at EPCOT. A video of the incident was recorded and shared on X by @streemosphere, a post which has since received dozens of reactions.

The video shows the drone being flown around EPCOT’s World Showcase Lagoon, just feet above other guests. A second video was shared, which ends with a cast member approaching the drone’s pilot.
It’s unclear what transpired after the video cit off, but we assume the guest was informed they are not allowed to fly the drone. Drones are prohibited according to Walt Disney World’s official list of rules, as are other recreational devices like remote-control toys, scooters, and skateboards.
Other prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
- Firearms, ammunition, knives, or weapons of any kind
- Self-defense or restraining devices
- Marijuana or any illegal substances
- Objects or toys that could look like firearms or weapons
- Fireworks or other explosive or flammable devices
- Alcoholic beverages except at the Disney resort hotels (Disney notes that wine may be brought into select restaurants at Disney Springs).
The most common way Disney World’s rules are broken is dress code violations. There have been several examples of guests being denied entry or being asked to change their clothing due to inappropriate attire. Walt Disney World is pretty lenient when it comes to what guests are allowed to wear, but certain items, namely backless tops and small athletic shirts, have proven to be issues recently.
