A recent video on TikTok has gone viral after it showed a mother and her child attempting to travel down a slide at Disney’s water theme park, Blizzard Beach. In the footage, the child is sitting on the mother’s lap, which is against the attraction’s rules. The cast member supervising the attraction can be seen telling the guest that she cannot travel down the slide in this way.

In response, the guest tries to put her child on the adjacent slide but slips down her own slide, taking her child with her. The child goes down the slide backwards as their mother still holds onto them. The footage has amassed over 3.5 million likes and over 41 million views since it was posted earlier this week.

Like a recent viral Peter Pan’s Flight video, this footage also uses the trending Jet2 Holidays sound, which is often used over vacation mishaps to create comical footage.

That said, the footage has divided opinion, with some people stating that the mother should not have attempted to travel down the slide with her child in the first place and others claiming that the cast member should have acted quicker—before the guests sat down—to prevent the mishap from happening.

One comment read:

“The employee kinda made the situation worse. It was a lot safer to leave [you,] cause 1, it was too late to ask you to get off and she should’ve been watching from the start and stopped you before you both sat down”

Another comment asked what many were thinking:

“like where was she leaving thr child anyways??? alone at [the] top of the slide?

Some of the comment threads on the video racked up over 150 responses as viewers debated the woman’s actions and whether she made the right choice in trying to move her child to the next slide along. Deepening the conversation was confusion over exactly where the guest was trying to place the child as the camera angle cut out the adjacent slide. Some worried that the guest was leaving her young child at the top of the slide with a bunch of strangers.

When asked what the plan was, the creator, @francellabaldelom, replied:

Lol no, I was just trying to get her on the other tube so we could slide together, but it didn’t work

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is just one of the water theme parks on offer at Central Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort, which also features Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. On May 21, the Walt Disney World Resort celebrated the momentous occasion when all six of its theme parks were open at the same time. However, in September 2025, Disney will close Blizzard Beach once again for seasonal maintenance.
