Refurbishments are common for Walt Disney World. However, 2025 is an exceptionally big year for the resort, with all kinds of renovations, updates, remodels, and overhauls in the works. Work is currently underway on three new lands, two of which are inspired by classic Pixar films like Monsters, Inc. and Cars.

Other upcoming projects include the closure and renovation of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which will be getting a Muppets twist. Guests can also look forward to the grand opening of Animal Kingdom’s new show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether, which will be located inside the Tree of Life where It’s Tough to be A Bug was formerly located.

Other projects include a new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar opening at the Magic Kingdom later this year, as well as refreshes for various hotels across the Walt Disney World property. One of the hotels getting a refresh is Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, though guests shouldn’t expect things to be finished by the original timeline, as Disney has announced the project has been extended.
