One Disney park has confirmed a surprising update for its parade in 2026.

Like Mickey Mouse, fireworks, and popcorn, parades have become a staple of the Disney park experience. In the decades since Walt Disney debuted Disneyland in 1955 – when the Anaheim theme park hosted its own Opening Day Parade – an array of processions have hit Disney’s theme parks across the globe.

Today, guests can enjoy the likes of Festival of Fantasy at Magic Kingdom Park and Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! over on the West Coast at Disney California Adventure Park, with the latter having returned to the resort as part of its 70th anniversary celebrations (although it’s currently rumored that it will be pausing performances soon ahead of the Halloween and Christmas seasons).

Several parks also boast their own nighttime parades. Walt Disney World Resort finally restored a Disney nighttime parade to Central Florida, having debuted the brand-new Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away earlier this month. This has proven so popular that dangerous levels of crowding have been reported at Magic Kingdom, with one adult guest even arrested on suspicion of child abuse after clashing with a teenager over a viewing spot. Meanwhile, Disneyland Resort also brought back Paint the Night (the best of Disney’s nighttime parades, we said what we said) to mark its anniversary, starting in May.

Disneyland Paris Brings Back Parade

As Disney continues its mission to bring back long-lost parades, it seems like Disneyland Paris is next in line.

While it’s not restoring its nighttime parade (it’s been over a decade since Disney’s Fantillusion ended, so we’re not holding out much hope), the French theme park resort has confirmed that it is reviving “A Million Splashes of Colour” in February 2026.

Breaking: “A Million Splashes of Colour” will return to Disneyland Paris in February 2026.

The parade first launched in early 2024 as a part of Disneyland Paris’ Symphony of Colours celebration. It later wrapped up its run nearly one year ago in September 2024 as the park began its Halloween celebration. Currently, Disneyland Paris runs Disney Stars on Parade every day, although the parade has experienced its fair share of issues in recent years, including malfunctioning or missing floats.

Not everyone is impressed by the parade’s return. “A Million Splashes of Colour “received mixed reviews during its run, with critics directing their harshest comments towards the design of the floats and the parade’s soundtrack. Some are now questioning why Disneyland Paris feels like it should return.

“Shall we bring back the most popular parades we have ever had…. na lets bring back the colour one,” wrote one X user.

Another wrote, “I suddenly feel like canceling my annual pass.”

The general consensus is that restoring Dreams…. And Shine Brighter! would have made a better choice. The parade – which ran through the spring and summer of 2022 –  was launched to mark Disneyland Paris’ 30th anniversary celebration. Another of the park’s parades, Disney Magic on Parade, is also fondly remembered within the Disneyland Paris community.

Notably, the parade’s return seems to suggest that a return for the Disney Music Festival isn’t on the cards for 2026. The celebration started in April and runs through early September, providing a series of live concerts, dance shows and street gigs that “celebrate the latest and greatest Disney hits.”

Despite the backlash, Disneyland Paris has gained a reputation for its stellar entertainment in recent years. Its main park may be nearing 20 years without a new attraction (yes, really), but both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park have introduced an abundance of high-caliber shows, such as TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands.
