Two Universal Epic Universe buses were destroyed after catching fire outside the new theme park.
According to a new report from WESH2, the two buses were stationed “just outside of Epic Universe.” The report describes the buses as being “completely charred” and destroyed as a result of the fire. Details of the incident and how it started remain unknown. It appears the two buses caught fire at a station located outside the bounds of the theme park. These buses were electric and new for the park.
Earlier today, several photos of dark smoke clouds were shared online. The smoke was visible from inside Epic Universe, specifically the park’s Dark Universe section.
Universal officials stated that the bus fire was extinguished quickly and that no injuries were reported. “We’re grateful to the Orange County fire department for their swift response. Safety remains our top priority,” Universal said in a statement sent to WESH2.
Much like Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando offers guests a number of ways to navigate the parks, hotels, and Universal CityWalk. Buses are complimentary for guests staying on property and travel to and from the three parks as well as Volcano Bay water park.
Epic Universe officially opened on May 22, 2025, becoming Universal’s third Florida theme park. The new park is located just a few miles away from Universal’s two other Florida parks, Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure. Over two months in and reviews are still quite positive for the park. Many have praised Epic Universe’s selection of rides and attractions, namely Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry and Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.
