The Disney theme parks have changed tremendously in recent years, with several big overhauls and upgrades now on the horizon. Not only can guests expect to see new rides and attractions, but they can also expect new dining locations, live shows, and a whole host of other experiences.
Theming and detail are the name of the game when it comes to the Disney theme parks, with designers going above and beyond to make sure guests feel like they’ve stepped into their own pirate or princess adventure.
Princesses play a significant role in the overall Disney theme park experience, especially at Disneyland, where guests can meet and interact with some of Disney’s most iconic leading ladies.
Disneyland also offers a special princess breakfast, though it is quite expensive. One father in particular was shocked by his high breakfast bill, sending the internet into a frenzy.
“Princess Breakfast at Disneyland with my kids. Almost spit out my coffee,” wrote John Tolkien in a post sharing his bill from Disney Princess Breakfast Adventure. “If I find that goddamn mouse I am going to mug him,” he continued.

The official website for the dining experience states that breakfast starts at $142 per person. Tolkien’s total was $187 per person. Disneyland describes the dining option as an “unforgettable 3-course breakfast.” During the meal, diners can expect to see some of their favorite Disney princesses.
While the price is quite shocking, this isn’t your typical theme park breakfast. For starters, guests can opt for mini lobster rolls and beignets. Classic like Mickey waffles are available, though so is truffle mac and cheese.
The post received over 140,000 likes on X and nearly 4,000 comments. Many were astounded by the price, but others blamed the dad.
“Bro, they tell you the price when you book. If you’re surprised, that’s on you,” wrote one user.
“This is where they really get you, although they also get you at every step of the way,” said another.
“JFC, did you kids write that check?” one user asked. “Also, I’ll need to see the full receipt before I make judgment.”
Tolkien admitted he enjoyed the experience overall, giving the food a 7/10. He also commended the staff and princesses.
Ultimately, this meal won’t be for everyone, but it certainly makes for a very special, very magical experience at Disneyland.
