There’s a whole lot to enjoy and explore during a Walt Disney World vacation, so much so that it can be pretty easy to miss the lesser-known attractions and experiences the resort has to offer. While legendary dark rides like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean are likely the first things to come to mind when planning a trip to Disney World, the resort is also home to various recreational activities.

Guests can stop by Disney World’s two water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, for a refreshing and relaxing time by the pool, or catch a movie at Disney Springs, the resort’s massive outdoor shopping and dining center.

However, Disney World also has a few sports for guests to enjoy, namely golf, with the resort offering several courses. Disney does offer a number of professional-grade courses, though most travelers likely search for Disney World’s mini golf courses at Winter Summerland.

Winter Summerland features two mini golf courses, one themed to summer and the other to winter. These two courses have been closed for the last few months but are now open, meaning guests can once again try their hand at one of Disney World’s most unique experiences.

Following their two-month closure, the Winter and Summer mini gold courses reopened at Winter Summerland.

The refurbishment originally began in April. The Winter Course closed first, followed by the Summer Course. Exact details about the refurbishment are unknown. However, it seems like parts of the courses, specifically the astroturf, have been replaced/repaired.

Guests can call (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529 to book a reservation for Winter Summerland. Winter Summerland costs $19 for adults and $12 for children ages 3-9.

As is the case with all of its locations, Disney gave Winter Summerland a deep backstory. The mini golf course was actually designed by Santa himself. During a trip on Christmas Eve, Santa discovered it was snowing in Florida. He decided to build his own vacation destination in the Sunshine State, naming it Winter Summerland.

Santa had his elves construct a golf course, each featuring 18 holes of fun.
