A detailed aerial artist's rendering of the Disney Asteria North Carolina project showcases a community center surrounded by residential housing, featuring green spaces, water bodies, amenities, and a large central swimming pool area. Despite local complaints, houses and lush greenery fill the surrounding area.

As a life long Floridian, take my advice and run as fast as you can away from Disney. They destroy communities and quality of life.

Too late! All the Yankees that have invaded NC, have already done a great job at that. This place, sadly, is hardly recognizable any longer.

      1. BJG

Agreed. NC is no longer “NC”!

        1. AYG

As a life long mountain resident of NC I cannot comprehend anything worse than Helene was to us than a 60000 Disney place. Horrors!

I agree 100%, these liberal fukks destroyed this State, notice how Republicans can’t ever get a Republican in as a Governor

      3. James

You’re probably the same type that likes a horrific economy and lives in a falling down shack. Don’t worry we know you can’t afford a Disney home you hillbilly.

Its all in the name of BlackRock. You welcome this but the gentrification is raising costs for generational families an its pushing them off their land. But hey, as long as you get what u want right? Screw the other guy. Rise up

      7. Jim

        Salty little election loser huh?

  2. Traci

This is just disgusting!! All part of the plan of destroying lives, homes ,families, animals and not to forget all the wildlife!!😡😡😡😡
Starting with helene! They knew exactly what they were doing when they messed with the cloud seeding ( chemtrails) . This will be filled with all the brainwashed puppets that love Disney and are full of satan himself. There will probably ,be plenty of human trafficking and child abductions ,just like what goes on at Disney world and yet so many refuse to believe then when their child or love one is missing they wonder why 😳🙄
I feel bad for all those who live near the development, that don’t want it. I’m sorry ,you’ll have to either live with it or they’ll run you out. This world is coming to end soon and the evil ones are getting worse by the minute. I pray for all you lost souls,in the end,God,is who you will seek your punishment from!

    1. Dave

      Spoken like a true fascist.

    2. Sandy

The world will never end, dumbass.

    3. George

NC used to be a good place to live. Everyone is trying to get in but I am trying to get out. NC has been ruined beyond recognition. And for what its is worth, I am a life long and registered Democrat.

  3. Diane

    Can’t wait!! Love Anything Disney!!

  4. Chris

I pray for peace and joy everybody in these comments today. You all our loved.

  5. Another land grabbing, getting rid of all wildlife and nature. Just mowing down everything in search of that almighty dollar. Mebane was bad enough putting in a Buckys but this absolutely tops that. Pretty soon all of north Carolina will be nothing but endless housing developments. Im old and won’t be around to see it but if u believe in climate change because of mankind then keep on tearing up vegetation and putting down concrete. Cause there will be no breathable air quality and everything will disintegrate. Im not a radical environmentalist but it doesn’t take a genius to figure that out. Bunch of woke democrats keep invading NC and tearing it up.Disney is the worst.

  6. Jessica

Wow, a lot of these comments are vile. Development is the way of the world. People need places to live. More people in the country equals more housing needed. Simple. It is selfish to expect it won’t happen near you. Disney does everything really well. I would love to buy one of their homes.

  7. Tim

Yea and probably the homes are going to be probably $500,000 or more. People are paying for the name

  8. Rebel Roper

Great- more rich people moving into exclusive developments pricing out the poor. Who’s gonna work for them, we won’t be able to afford housing within an hours drive of them. Sure, there will be more employment – for a lot of underpaid jobs. This is just something to put more cash in the politicians and investors.

I was born and raised in Miami, FL in the 50s. As an adult moved to Asheville, NC in the late 70s looking for a quieter life with natural beauty. Through the years I watched Asheville and the surrounding area grow and change. Nine years ago I moved to the sweet, safe little city of Pittsboro, NC.

I don’t want to see Chatham County, NC change. If you like places like Disney developments stay where you are or move to one already built. We don’t need the changes Disney’s developers will bring.

What some call progress, I call destruction.
