Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration officially kicked off back in May and will last through an unspecified date in 2026. Similar to what was seen with Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary event, guests can enjoy limited-time dining and shopping during Disneyland’s birthday party, as well as a variety of other exclusive experiences.
However, guests should be prepared for several rides and attractions, including a few classics, to be offline over the next several months.

Matterhorn Bobsleds is still closed following its closure back in May. The classic roller coaster does not have an official reopening date. Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room has been closed for quite some time, but will reopen on July 2. This refurbishment included several tweaks, one of which was the restoration of the attraction’s iconic Tangaroa Tree.
Star Tours—The Adventures Continue will close on June 30 for refurbishment. It’s unknown when the attraction will reopen.
Next up is Pixar Pal-A-Round, which will be closed between July 14 and July 24. Main Street Cinema will close a day later, on July 15, and will reopen on July 17. The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail and Storybook Land Canal Boats, two of Disneyland’s most unique attractions, will close on July 21. Later, on July 28, both Casey Jr. Circus Train and Incredicoaster will close.
All of these attractions are listed to remain closed through at least August 7, though we can speculate as to when some may return.
The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is expected to reopen on August 17, as it’s typically used during Disneyland’s Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween event.
Great Moments wth Mr. Lincoln has been closed for months and is not expected to reopen until after Disneyland’s 70th anniversary winds down. The historic Disneyland attraction is being adjusted to make room for a new show, Walt Disney – A Magical Life, which will feature a new story centered around Walt Disney himself.
The new show will house a lifelike animatronic based on Walt Disney, something Disney has remained mostly quiet about. A Magical Life will begin running on July 17. Once the new show opens, it will run in rotation with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.
