I along with many I’m sure want a Wicked land, not just an attraction. The movie grossed over $700M – the highest grossing musical in box office history.
I would like to see an entire area devoted to Oz and Wicked:
– The actual train used in the film on display and possibly used for a train ride around the area, with scenery of Munchkinland, possibly the forest stopping at a recreation of Emerald City.
– At the recreation of Emerald City, having the Wizards Palace be a real hotel with rooms for guests and the main hall with the Wizards head as an animatron, with animatronic flying monkey’s and staff dressed as guards. Also a dining room with the Wizard’s ‘sandbox’ Perhaps Emerald City could also offer hot air balloon rides as well. It might also offer the Wizard ‘play’ as an animatronic show.
– An actual Munchkinland and Shitz University that guest could visit and walk through a tulip filed between them on a yellor brick road and/or have a ride on a gondolia between them on a real waterway. Shitz could have restaurants souvenir shops and possibly be another hotel.
– An area, perhaps in the palace hotel with the ‘Wizard’ present to grant fee based wishes such as cruises, travel, paid events such as conferences, hotel reservations, meet and greet Elphaba and Glenda, 3D paper popup book of The Story of OZ, hot air balloon rides, Elixir for sale, etc.
– At the entrance, Dorothys farmhouse sitting on a representation of the Wicked Witch of the East open for touring.
– A real nightclub, The OzDust, and restaurant under Shitz University
– Event staff dressed as Oz characters such as Fiero, scaracrow, lion, tinman, Madam Morrible, etc.
– The Grammary on a bookstand in the palace, perhaps as an amusment, that can be talked to to flip its pages to various Oz texts and illustrations.
The bottom line of all of this is to create a true Oz experience much like Disney as created Main Street in their parks.
