I am incredibly sad that the rest of the world now feels unsafe coming to visit the US. As a US citizen I sympathize as I also new feel unsafe here. The Orange Menace has his goons all over arresting people for no reason, investigating anyone who has the audacity to suggest that perhaps we should not have elected a senile old man who thinks he is the new Pope, among other fantasies. If we have a more elections and are able to repair some of the damage this jerk and his minions are doing maybe we can invite the world’s people back. At the moment…I have told my grandson NOT to use his US passport, just use his UK life he goes anywhere in the world. You know, I used to be proud to be an American. It is very sad that I can no longer feel that way.
Probably not relevant to this topic but we once met a Canadian couple who spent a month down here every winter. While chatting with them, they told us they were annual pass members like us. They said the money they saved on parking made it worth while to them even though They paid more than we did. they came every day for a month sometimes driving from one parking lot to another

To be honest, even if you got rid of Trump tomorrow and immediately rescinded the tariffs, the trust between our nations has been broken. It will take a very long time before Canadians trust our neighbors to the south.
Trust is the hardest thing to earn and the easiest thing to lose. Most Canadians will refuse to visit the US for a very long time… or maybe never return. Mexico, Europe and Asia will likely see a serious upswing in Canadian tourism.

Airing your personal (political) views will only incite and invite vitriol that is not needed. I am just trying to head off what we all know is going - we do not need arguments or personal attacks on one another.

When we hear that Canadians travellers have been harassed by US customs and have been harassed by pro Trump fans we stay home safely . It’s all facts on the news .
Facts? All news (mainstream or otherwise) can easily be manipulated/exaggerated. Selling or marketing a story is the focus of most news outlets. Also, liberal and conservative news outlets cater to their particular audience more so than reporting the “facts.”. So, question everything and equally trust (mistrust?) the same.🙃

The parks at WDW have been empty since the announcement of tariffs by the guy with 6 bankruptcies and 20 failed businesses, including 3 casinos. He’s single handedly destroying our economy and the global economy because his mega donor crypto bros want him to. He’s beyond clueless about finance and economics, always has been. We are seeing a huge drop in tourism in Orlando.

I have been to Disney twice since the election and the parks were far from empty! Very busy. Now having trouble booking the Grand or the Poly so not sure Disney is at all bothered about the loss of a few Canadians. I kind Of hope they cancel. Disneyworld is wonderful.

The park crowds fluctuate depending on the season and the Canadians don’t always go to Disney or Florida. Don’t trust the news. All one narrative.
