The article claims that improvements are now being made to make rides “more inclusive” but in truth these issues are new to begin with.
The narrowest rollercoaster seats ever, & knee bars on Gringotts are new things. Just as the airplane industry issues with narrow seating is something they did–making seating & isles as narrow as possible to fit as many passengers on smaller planes to make more money. I hate the body positivity movement, 1 reason is that their complaints & the arguments on either side obscure the fact that these are new issues & why this happened.
The rides are mostly a problem with taller people & women who have wider hips, even when we ignore weight there’s that issue. Test seats are a new thing, & aren’t exactly better, especially depending on placement & no 1 & no message tells you, you might have the embarrassment of waiting hours in line only to be told you don’t fit in front of everyone because you don’t go to Disney every weekend & didn’t know about the test seats.
Used to be there was just a sign as you got in line telling you had to be a certain height to be on the ride. You couldn’t miss that & the attendant would tell you.
Now if you don’t find those seats in their random placement in the park far from the lines, you’re waiting in a line for hours you might not be able to ride.

I was blessed with the ability to go to an Epic preview. I am a plus sized person and have experienced the disappointment of not being able to enjoy everything Universal has to offer. I was pleasently surprised yesterday that I was able to ride everything I wanted to ride even rides that at their other parks are pinching and no gos. While I don’t blame them for my misfortune, I am glad I was able to enjoy myself yesterday.
